MY Starburst III MAIN Superyacht Profiles The 47.5 metre luxury charter yacht Starburst III is one of the newest yachts available for charter. Beginning life as a custom superyacht project, unprecedented interest in the Bilgin's latest model led the yard to create a series, and so the Bilgin 156 was born.

Captain Sebastian Gennies leads Starburst III's experienced yacht crew of nine, and describes a charter experience on board as the ultimate escape from the stresses of daily life. "Starburst III is a family-friendly, watersports-oriented yacht with a modern flair, a young crew and a captain that is happy to bring the yachting experience to guests and clients. Primarily she is a summer boat, combining interior and open deck spaces perfectly together with floating borders.”

Powered by twin MTU diesel engines, she has a top speed of 16 knots, a cruising speed of 12 knots and a range of 5,000 nm.

Starburst III Yacht Charter

Built by the award-winning Turkish shipyard Bilgin Yachts in 2017, Starburst III measures 47.5 metres (155'10") with a beam of 8.75 metres (28'8"), a draft of 2.5 metres (8'2") and a volume of 496 GT, and is the first hull in the Bilgin 156 line of semi-custom superyachts. Her exterior design and naval architecture come from local Turkish studio, Unique Yacht Design. What’s more, she may be one of the best condition superyachts on the market, undergoing a two-month refit in 2019 that saw her interior and exterior spaces refreshed, as well as a brand-new paint job transforming the yacht to an eye-catching steely grey.

The renowned British studio of Jonny Horsfield, H2 Yacht Design, undertook Starburst III's interior design, with a modern and bright style that utilises a colour palette of copper, stone, stainless steel and a variety of precious metals and high-quality woods. A grand staircase connects the decks with a matching spiralling stone design, while a skylight in the deckhead floods the area with natural light and enhances the level of detail that has gone into the creation of this natural interior.

The upper deck and sundeck are built for living the best of the yacht life and, as Captain Sebastian says, it comes as no surprise that these areas are some of the guests' favourite on every Starburst III charter. The raised jacuzzi on the sundeck is complemented by a shaded alfresco seating area and bar, as well as plenty of sun loungers on the aft deck. This deck is the perfect retreat for some quiet time outside, sheltered from the elements thanks to the large mast structure and sunken deck level.

The fun continues down one level on the upper deck where the sky lounge offers a fully stocked entertainment centre and leads out onto the covered aft deck complete where an outdoor dining area awaits. Start your evening by enjoying your favourite cocktail at the built-in bar for a sundown aperitif before sitting down with good friends and close family for an alfresco dining experience under the stars.

Starburst III is certainly not a charter yacht lacking in the facilities to make the most of the yacht life. Aside from her generous outdoor areas, she also offers a gym equipped with a treadmill, exercise bike, multi-functional weights machine and dumbbells, as well as a fantastic beach club for unparalleled access to the ocean when at anchor.

On board, she accommodates up to 10 guests across a five-cabin layout consisting of three VIP double staterooms and one twin stateroom, as well as a generous owners suite complete with a fold-out balcony on the main deck forward. Elsewhere, there’s a large main salon with an entertainment centre and formal dining set up for sophisticated meals at sea.

Mediterranean Superyacht Charter

Starburst III offers superior charter experiences in the west and the central Mediterranean, ensuring to mix it up so that guests never get bored. "We charter throughout the Mediterranean and try to vary the regions from season to season so that repeating clients can enjoy different areas each year, but keep the familiarity of Starburst III," explains Captain Sebastian. "There is so much to offer guests both onshore and at sea, whether you're looking for the world's best Mediterranean beach clubs or serene and secluded coves for intimate family excursions."

No large luxury charter yacht is complete without an equally impressive list of water toys and watersports equipment. Guests can look forward to a 5.5 metre Williams 565 jet tender to transfer them to the best Mediterranean hotspots ashore, including the best restaurants in town. But for those wanting to get out on the water, the yacht comes fully equipped for adventure with two SeaDoo Rotax RXP X-300 jet skis, the latest SeaBobs, stand-up paddleboards, two-person kayaks, waterskis, snorkelling gear and plenty of fishing equipment. Starburst III offers something for the whole family when it comes to fun days in the sun.

A superyacht charter is a luxury vacation like no other, and the dedicated crew on board are always at hand to ensure that each guest is looked after for an experience like no other. They are also great with children, with Captain Sebastian explaining that “a few of the crew have children themselves and know what makes kids happy. We see that children love to tour around the boat with crew away from the normal guest areas and enjoy spending time on the bridge or steering a tender." Rainy evenings are spent inside where the crew set up games for the young ones or movie nights for the whole family.
