Laurel

  • 73.2m | Delta Marine | 2006 (2014)
MY Laurel 1200x800 12 The largest yacht ever built by Delta Marine, Laurel is a truly majestic craft whose many layers are certain to surprise and delight guests.

At 73.2m (240ft), this 2006 build was refitted in a charming classic style in 2014 with unflinching attention to detail at every turn. With five decks and an elevator serving them all, there is abundant space for relaxation and entertaining on a grand scale.

Laurel’s main salon is an elegantly designed lounge featuring large windows framed by glossy burl wood, numerous oversized cream sofas and armchairs and an eye-catching central coffee table, combining to create an intimate clubroom-style ambience which is perfect for after dinner drinks.

A formal dining salon, forward of the main salon, has a capacity for 16 guests and can be closed off for added privacy. Numerous styles of place setting mean Laurel can cater for any mood or occasion.

The bridge deck offers casual elegance while the aft deck provides generous seating and sunning areas. Step inside to enjoy a change of scene in the skylounge, library and media room, ideal spots for reading, watching movies and playing games.

A versatile top deck has been designed with fun in mind; a jacuzzi, large sun pads and chaises will please sun lovers, while active guests will enjoy the ease of access to a well-equipped air-conditioned gym.

The observation lounge is an alternative entertainment area, perfect as an intimate dinner setting or relaxation zone.

Laurel sleeps 12 across seven magnificent staterooms. The master is accessed via a dedicated office space with port and starboard private balconies and the bedroom and private salon are peaceful and spacious. An opulent antique travertine and gold leaf bathroom suite is complemented by his and hers dressing rooms, creating the ideal quarters for the host couple.

Six further staterooms are located on the lower deck with a variety of configurations to suit individual needs. Four king suites have ensuite bathrooms and showers as well as a desk area and mini salon. Two queen suites have bathtubs and one can be set up as a children’s room with additional single bed and Pullman. A 7th stateroom doubles as a spa suite or staff/security quarters, with queen or twin bed capacity and ensuite facilities.

Watersports enthusiasts are supremely well catered for, with a swim platform and teak beach as well as numerous toys including two SeaDoo waverunners, two SeaBobs, SUPs, kayaks, wakeboards, water skis, hamster water balls, inflatables, a waterslide, rock climbing wall, trampoline and the usual snorkelling and fishing gear as well as golf. Two of the 24-strong crew are diving instructors.

In keeping with a yacht of such global pedigree, Laurel’s gastronomy offerings are inspired by her world travels with a chef well versed in a huge diversity of cuisines including Chinese, Japanese, Korean, Mongolian, Malaysian, Vietnamese, Indian and Middle Eastern.

From sashimi, maki, sushi and ramen through to baked oysters with breadcrumb topping, the finest caviar and smoked salmon and flavoursome and wholesome savoury tarts, Laurel’s chef has every occasion covered, from an intimate meal for two through to elegant soirées and gala dinners.

A passion for baking is also evident, spanning from San Francisco sourdough to French patisserie, Lebanese pita to Indian naan, not forgetting the ciabatta and focaccia specialities of Italy.

A built-in dumb waiter serves every level of the yacht, meaning you can experience different dining settings and moods on every deck as the feeling takes you. Furthermore, the formal dining salon can be transformed into a mini restaurant setting, with leaves from the blond wood table removed and reconfigured into smaller, more intimate eating arrangements.
